At the hub of the school our well resourced Careers Department is there to meet the needs of students, staff and parents. Touted as a lead school as regards Careers Education, Gateway and the Youth Apprenticeship Scheme, we are able to assist students at all levels to create career pathways, to assist with careers information and to guide students in their subject selection.
Students at all levels participate in a Careers Education programme that builds on the previous year’s course. We offer specialized programmes for Early Childhood Education, Future Plus (that leads to a National Certificate in Employment Skills), the Gateway Programme (which provides an opportunity for students to work out in the workforce while undertaking industry qualifications alongside their NCEA qualifications) and the Youth Apprenticeship Scheme which further extends this concept to multiple days of work placement.
We also assist students with their applications to University, Halls of Residences and Scholarships.
Open at lunchtimes and interval our friendly staff are there to support our youth to explore and achieve their career aspirations. See you there!
