Te Puke High School operates according to the standard New Zealand school year. Students in Years 11, 12 and 13 finish when their national external exams (NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3) are completed, which is usually at the end of November or very early in December. Years 9 and 10 students are required to stay until the end of their school year. International students are welcome at any stage; however, starting at the beginning of a term makes it easier to settle into an academic programme. International students are expected to participate in all aspects of the curriculum.
English support (ESOL) is offered to all international students with English as their second language. Support for the IELTs examination can be provided if required.
Students can enter for national examinations, NCEA, in Years 11, 12 and 13.
